Irish Music at St Agnes Fall Festival in Roeland Park, KS
My memory might be out on this but do you remember 5 years ago at St Agnes over on Mission a couple of blocks to the north of Shawnee Mission Parkway?
It was a Tuesday, a school night, and the weather was lousy. Tents were erected but had to be ignored as we all did what we did crammed indoors instead.
That was the night we reverse-waked Eddie Delahunt after he came back to us from the dead. I think there was about 2,000 of us there. I worked one of the bars that night, and flogged a load of CDs, but the whole night I kept looking at the crowd thinking I’m unlikely to ever again be in a situation where I know so many people.
And it’s true so far.
It was one of the most special nights I ever witnessed the Irish community having in KC, and has left me with fond memories. If you were there - and if you’re reading this you probably were - you can relive it just a little on Saturday September 29, 2007 at 7:00pm when Eddie Delahunt himself this time plays the St. Agnes Fall Festival.
You can find the St. Agnes Church grounds at 53rd & Mission Road in Roeland Park, Kansas - which is where Mission does that funny kink thing. For more information you can always call (913) 262-2400 - they’re looking for volunteers last time I heard.
