Rugby World Cup: France V Ireland
If I seem quiet today it’s because Ireland as a nation is about to watch in a few minutes the World Cup rugby crunch game against France.
And if you’re in Ireland - or Britain - you can ignore this post.
The game might well be on live at The Gaf but I forgot to check for you.
If you haven’t been following this competition you might not have to much longer. Ireland have played two games and were considered highly unimpressive despite winning against both Namibia and Georgia. Nobody is talking any more about them being one of the favourites for the competition.
France on the other hand surprisingly lost their opening game against Argentina before recovering form to slaughter Namibia.
So now France must win or they, the host nation and reigning 6-nations, go out shockingly early. And if Ireland don’t win they’ll almost certainly be on an early flight home from France to.
They’ve just announced that France are 1/7 favourites to win - which means you can get good odds on an Irish victory of 4/1. It should perhaps be mentioned that Ireland have only beaten France in France once in 35 years. And that France beat Ireland a few months back in that first rugby game at Croke Park with that last minute try.
Oh and the Marseillaise is so much better than Ireland’s Call.

Anyway, cup of tea time.
