Cleaning Up
Did I mention that last night was my last at O’Dowd’s Little Dublin on the Plaza?
It was a Wednesday with live Irish music so of course the crowds were huge. Or else I’m lying.
It’s a rather special feeling when the performers can play a song for you without you even asking, and the very song you want had you asked. And last night I was very lucky to have Brand New Song played for me by Eddie Delahunt. With brand new lyrics, no less.
Other highlights of the evening for me were Banner Man from Eddie’s new CD Triuir (which took a detour through KC’s Westport and also through West Dublin into County Kildare), Caherconree from Original Sing, and Mary Ellen Carter by John Morris.
Sadly, not traveling by bicycle I didn’t get to pick up any tennis balls on the way home, but that’s probably for the best and anyway I must tell you what I did with all the tennis balls I’ve been picking up these Kansas City years. But later.
Right now I’m cleaning an empty house while drinking beer and listening to John Morris’ new CD. And it’s about time.

I can’t believe you’re actually going. I’ve enjoyed talking to you over the short time I’ve known you. Take care and maybe I’ll come see you. if you let me.
It’s was good seeing you at the Pub Wedneday. Good luck in where ever life takes you.
