Feast of Irish Music for Downtown Kansas City, MO
A feast of top class Irish & Celtic music is performing in downtown Kansas City, Missouri this September, much of it featuring entertainment from Ireland, and KC’s own Celtic Rock band The Elders, as the 2008 Arts Midwest Music Conference takes place.
In a festival of Irish music and Celtic music you have Cara Dillon, Craicmore, Screaming Orphans, Téada, Cécile Corbel, Celtic Spring, Beoga, Tommy Fleming, Slide, and Kansas City’s own Elders.
You also have a presence from the show Celtic Crossroads with Irish music and dancing meeting other music forms.
You have tons of chances to see these Irish and Celtic bands perform live in arranged showcases. But before all that you have Tommy Fleming.
Tommy Fleming performs at the opening night party at the Midland Theatre on Wednesday, September 17, 2008. Fleming is described as “undoubtedly Ireland’s premier performer” on Tommy’s own publicity. Good to see he doesn’t have any doubts.

Celtic Crossroads (Kansas City Convention Center)
Critically acclaimed as “the most exhilarating and authentic show to come from Ireland in decades – not to be missed” - which makes me go “Hmmmm”.
You know the score - youthful energy, dazzling musicianship, fusions of traditional Irish music, bluegrass, gypsy, and jazz, abounding no less, and of course rhythms of exciting Irish dance percussion, pulsating!
