2006 was the self-declared Celtic Year of the Fuchsia, and for these traditional Irish musicians from Cork, 2006 did not disagree.

On only their second tour of the US, the Grá Dá Raibh tour, Máirtín de Cógáin, Eoin Verling, Mick Heffernan, and Brian McGillicuddy are playing the biggest Irish festival in the world, Milwaukee Irish Fest, and selling out gigs throughout the land.

Grá Dá Raibh means Love That Was in the Irish language, Gaeilge - and is also the title of the Fuchsia Band’s brand spanking new CD first aired in Minnesota and offered for sale at the Irish Fair there.
2006 saw Fuchsia front man Máirtín de Cógáin star in Ken Loach’s Palme d’Or Cannes Film Festival winning movie about Irish Independence and the Irish Civil War, The Wind That Shakes The Barley. Máirtín plays Sean and gets to sing Óró sé do Bheatha Abhaile as well as play with guns.
