Following The Fuchsia Band in America
Talking of following Irish trad bands, The Fuchsia Band from Cork are back in the US and, as they tour around, Eoin Verling has once again activated their blog for you to keep up with their breathless, and burgerless, pace.
In theory each of the boys can contribute, and you can therefore, if you like, follow just the one you like, Mick? Brian? Eoin himself? (and so far the only one writing) or the part-time Kansas City resident, Máirtín?
Máirtín dropped a note to me the other day from their time at the Dayton Celtic Festival in Ohio, and in Kansas City you’ll be able to catch up yourself with Mr de Cógáin and the rest of The Fuchsia Band when they squeeze a gig in at Eddie Delahunt’s Cafe & this coming Monday, August 6, 2007 at 7pm ish.
The coffeeshop KC gig is in between appearances in Memphis, Tennessee and Green Bay, Wisconsin, but keep an eye on their rather lovely MySpace for their full US schedule of gigs, and that blog for the personal touch.

apparently Eoin can’t read the big magnet on the side of the truck that says the Jennifer Ireland Foundation. that’s who the bus is courtesy of. there might even be two magnets on that bus.
hit their “rather lovely myspace page” (!) for links to all of fuchsia in cyberspace—bebo for mairtin, eoin and brian; myspace for mairtin;eoin’s blog; the main website. also to be found are active links for all festivals and other “places in between”.
mick seems to be shy.
