Review of Dropkick Murphys Live KC Show
Bethany Smith has a review on Popwreckoning of the recent Dropkick Murphys Show at Kansas City’s Beaumont Club.
It’s a big thumbs up, for all three acts, including Boston’s finest purveyors of Irish Punk Metal, or whatever it is that the Murphys do:
Beers clanking, crowd-singing along to every word, it was like we were all friends magically transported away from Kansas City to an intimate pub in Ireland. The band was tight and sounded better than their recordings and countless radio singles. They, too, showed their fans love with constant time in the crowd. The piano had never been used so rockingly. It was just insane fun to watch and take part.

Wow. I have never seen the phrases “intimate pub in Ireland” used in reference to the Dropkick Murphys. Clearly I have been visiting the wrong intimate pubs in Ireland.
And I was being so good in resisting that…
