St Patrick’s Day Parade Causes North Lawrence Intersection to Open
For about 90 minutes on March 17, 2010 Lawrence, Kansas traffic will be able to drive into the ongoing reconstruction project that is the intersection of North Second and Locust streets.
As the parade that starts at 1pm in South Park makes its way down Massachusetts Street and onto the Kansas River bridge, it will be steered east onto Elm Street — detouring to Locust Street and ultimately on to the usual stopping point at The Flamingo Club — the regular traffic will be allowed to proceed past temporarily removed barricades up until Locust.
With the construction due to be finished in August, even if it’s late next year’s parade should be back to normal.
