People to People International, Kansas City, MO Visits Ireland
A 15-year-old Abilene, Kansas, girl rated Ireland as her favourite place of a 3-country 3-week People to People International exchange program trip.
One of 15 students from Kansas, Taylor Youtsey, and the group were told by the delegation manager from England that in European countries Americans can be viewed as being rude, so Taylor and the group were on a mission to be seen as humble and respectful.
“Ireland was my favorite country,” Youtsey said. “The countryside was so beautiful.”
The delegation started in England and London was a typical big city with a lot of hustle and bustle, she said, adding that made it somewhat difficult to experience the culture of London. The time in Ireland allowed the delegation to have a peaceful stay and interact more with the Irish.
The People to People group spent nine days in Ireland.
“We did not do a lot of interacting at times, but in Ireland we had a home stay and we spent two nights with a family who were really nice,” Youtsey said.
That family lived outside of Dublin.
