We Haven’t Been an Irish Pub in Years
In the second part of his drinking travels in the state of Kansas, Kansas City walker Scoot and his pal went to Chapman, KS, where they didn’t go to an Irish pub.
And looking at the photo you’d've done the same.
The two-part series of drinking venues spread throughout Kansas has some great photographs of just what pubs in small town America looks like.
It all makes me rather nostalgic for my bicycle trip across the US - of which I need to give you the second half one of these days.
From the Scoot Utopia:
We then headed across the street to an Irish Pub, where we were promptly intercepted by a waitress. When Brandon mentioned that we were looking for a beer, she herded us out the door and pointed us back to where we just came from. “But where’s the Irish pub?” Brandon asked. “There isn’t one,” she said. “But what about that sign?” I said, pointing to the large green sign that said “Irish Pub”. “Oh, we haven’t been an Irish pub in years,” she said, shooing us away.
