U2 Tribute Band Plays Kansas & Missouri
Like the rest of the US, the midwest has its share of U2 tribute bands, but based in Kansas City and billing itself as the Midwest’s Premier U2 Tribute, and not without reason, is Rattle and Hum KC.
You can judge for yourself by visiting Rattle & Hum’s MySpace, or on their website where you can hear the same audio samples recorded in a Matt Janszen produced session at UMKC studio back in February 2007.
You may remember RHKC from a couple of gigs at the Record Bar including the Paddy’s Day extravaganza in the big tent.
This KC U2 tribute band Rattle and Hum KC frequently play gigs at the Record Bar in Westport, and the Brooksider in, yes, Brookside.
They’ve also performed at area Irish festivals and in October 2008 are opening at the Uptown Theatre for English Beat, or as we call them in Ireland The Beat.
Rattle & Hum gigs in the Kansas City area are posted on the KC Irish Events calendar.
RHKC Band Members:
Mike (Bono) Vocals, Guitar
Tony (Edge) Guitar, backing vocals
Pat (Adam Clayton) Bass
Gary (Larry Mullen, Jr.) Drums, backing vocals
And also featuring Matt on keyboards and sound
For what it’s worth you can read what I wrote some time back about growing up in U2’s Dublin as Bono and the boys came to prominence.

I can only go on what I’ve heard online. I listened to the four tracks on that session, and to a few of their videos, and yes I’d say they are pretty good alright - assuming U2 is your cup of tea of course - but they definitely do a very good job at recreating that sound.
They claim to pay more attention to just sounding like U2 rather than the gimmickry of having to look like them, and I think it pays off.
I think they look like the Joshua Trio, remember them from Dublin ah but they actually sound good on the audio samples. By the way if your looking for another u2 cover band check out…The Pet Shop Boys version of Where the streets have know name…http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x29znx_pet-shop-boys-where-the-streets-hav
I’ve seen them several times, and they sound great. Their singer is very close to Bono vocally; it’s uncanny.
I first saw U2 perform live in July 2005, and I haven’t stopped talking about that experience yet!! : lol: Over the years, I’ve had the good fortune to see them many times, U2 band and their show improve with each new tour! Next weekend I’m gonna see them again since I can compare [link removed] …I’m so excited!!
