Tony’s Kansas City Playlist Goes Irish
Do you remember the Irish Soliders of Mexico? Not the actual San Patricios but the blogpost where I told you about them 4 years ago.
Tony of TKC thought it was cool to learn such a thing and has been spreading the news ever since, like last night when Tony dedicated his regular Saturday night playlist to songs Irish.
It’s nearly a good selection too despite the inclusion of Dennis Leary, and shockingly - or is it admirably - Gilbert O’Sullivan.
While waxing on about the Irish in general in Kansas City, Tony notes that there still exists a loosely knit Irish community in Kansas City that draws upon years of history in this town. I’ve always believed this admirable effort to maintain a cultural legacy was aided by a shared skin color with the majority that made ongoing persecution seem far too picky.
And I’d agree wholeheartedly with that - as would you if you had to regularly deal with the whatever the INS are calling themselves these days… (I know, it’s the USCIS)
