Today is Mother’s Day in Ireland
Today is Mother’s Day in Ireland, which you’ll note is a different day to Mother’s Day in America.
Mother’s Day in Ireland and Britain has a different origin than it’s sister day in the US, but thanks to people’s stupidity and Hallmark’s interest in profit, it is now indistinguishable save for the general American practice of wishing Happy Mother’s Day to anybody who even resembles a mother.
Anyway, if you want to pretend to be Irish, today would seem to give you an excuse to do so. Or if you actually have a mother in Ireland you could call her.
P.S. Ireland didn’t do its clock thing into Daylight Saving Time last night - we do ours in 2 weeks - so for the next 14 days Ireland is just 5 hours ahead of Kansas City instead of the more usual 6.
