The Garda Band at Croker
Irish major entertainment blog Blogorrah today gave the heads up on The Police performing at Dublin’s Croke Park in October this year.
Maybe I’ve forgotten, but I thought October was outside everbody’s definition of summer.
I may or may not be in Dublin come October, but such news makes me nostalgic because one summer in the Gaeltacht I was a member of an Irish language police tribute band (whatever that means) called Na Póilinigh. It wasn’t my idea, and it wasn’t a good one.
In other Blogorrah news today, they conitinue their daily nostalgia fest with ads shown on American TV with an Irish theme, or should that be an Oirish theme.
Though speaking of television, Blogorrah and Croke Park, yesterday’s post of the Naked Camera clip of the great Don Baker coping with the taxi driver was my favourite. Coming just after “Can you get battered sausages in Batterstown?” it was the “You know the way that all the chippers by Croke Park run out of onion rings for three months after a big game?” where Baker reached his limit.
