Sessions Resume at BC in Atchison, KS
The regular weekly sessions at Benedictine College up in Atchison, Kansas are recommencing this evening, Wednesday, August 27, 2008 at 8:30pm.
The Benedictine College Celtic Music Club meets every Wednesday for these sessions which generally go on to about 10:30pm. They take place in the Havarty Center which is where the book store and student center is (aka - the Old Gym or the Roost).
This is one of the few sessions in the area where “the dots” (sheet music) is acceptable. We have music books that we bring every week that people can play out of. We also do a fair amount of singing. Any kind of music is welcome BUT the focus is on celtic (irish and scottish).
If you are an experienced player, please come up and help introduce our students to the tradition. If you are a new player to celtic music, come, participate, and enjoy the “craic.”
