Irish Music Sessions at The Gaf
Twice a month, on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays from 3pm to 6pm a trad session takes place at The Gaf, the Irish pub at the old Romanelli on Wornall in Waldo.
This is the session that previously took place at Kennedy’s on 75th Street, before the pub was destroyed by fire.
Back in February shortly after the Kennedy’s fire, I read of one unsuspecting punter who popped into the Gaf and was very pleased to hear the session in progress. Note that the original post on Dan’s blog dates from late 2005 when The Gaf was only newly opened.
The music played is described as Celtic and Irish, fast and generally traditional.
The musicianship involved is classed as intermediate and above.
Upcoming gigs are being added to the Events Calendar.
At the time of posting the sessions scheduled for Saturdays during the summer of 2007 are:
• June 9th and 23rd
• July 14th and 28th
• August 11th and 25th
• September 8th and 22nd
