Potcheen Folk Band in O’Quigley’s of Leawood, KS
On Saturday, 29th December 2007, the Potcheen Folk Band from Denver are playing Paddy O’Quigley’s in Leawood.
The Potcheen Folk Band are big into Pirate music, whatever that means, and by describing themselves as “Colorado’s Premiere Celtic Pirate-Punk-Folk-Rock Band” they kind of rob me of any point in slagging them off - though here’s what I said about PFB last time they played Kansas.
They have a website here, and you can also find them on MySpace here. Both sites let you hear examples of their music.
The Potcheen pirate boys recently shared a stage with The Elders at the Soiled Dove over in Denver, and photos of both bands have been posted here.
O’Quigley’s Pub & Grill is in a strip at 119th & Roe in Leawood, Kansas and the gig starts at 8pm.
You can phone the pub at (913) 345-1119 • or visit their Website where the Potcheen Folk Band event is not yet on their calendar. The pub also are on MySpace but no dates whatsoever are up there.
This event is posted on the KC Irish Events calendar.
My name is Christian, im the founder, drummer and manager of the band POTCHEEN (formerly the potcheen folk band) We just played at Paddy o’Quigleys last weekend and had a grand time. The band has not played out here in quite a while since our bus GRACE was hit and totalled by a semi in Lee Summitt last march, but we survived bought a new bus “Bonney” and changed out most of the players since last you saw us. Weve been touring a lot with the Young Dubs and the band has gotten a lot better. I know you gave us a scathing review last time, but id appreciate a second chance next time we return. Slainte’
Cheers Christian,
I haven’t been very active on the site recently which is why I hadn’t posted news of your latest gig at O’Quigleys even though I’d seen several notices for it.
Hopefully I’ll be more active next time you’re in town.
For what it’s worth I didn’t give you a scathing review though:
if you listen to PFB you’ll certainly hear some very accomplished musicians and I can see the Potcheen boys going down a treat in Kansas
Thanks again
