Man Proud Of His Irish Roots
Here’s a little something my brother sent me a couple of weeks ago.
It’s an old article from The Onion of a man who is very proud of his Irish ancestry - his great-great grandmother being from Cork.
Strictly speaking I should probably wait until March to trot this out, but I’m afraid I’ll pack in a cardboard box by accident and then forget about it.
Jessica Kroeger, 23, is mystified by her older brother’s identification with the Irish people.
“I have no idea where he got this whole Irish fixation from,” Jessica said. “I mean, Dad’s mostly German and Mom’s some kind of European mongrel. He never gave a shit about it in high school, but at some point in college it just suddenly kicked in.”
And there’s more. Much more

I bet that guy just loved “The Brothers McMullen” which featured a cheesy Irish logo in every scene. Blech.
Is he the one who gave how-to-be-Irish lessons to Pat Binns, the newly appointed Canadian ambassador to Ireland?
Pat Binns who greeted a CBC presenter with top of the morning and suddenly remembered he was called Paddy up to the age of 10.
