KC Man Visits Ireland’s Fleadh Cheoil

It’s quite funny as Auyon joins a banjo class and gets to “play” on stage with a group from St Louis.
Even barring the guys at the festival, the fleadh was an incredible experience. There were more than a hundred thousand people in the town, and from Friday afternoon through early Monday morning, you couldn’t walk 15 or 20 feet without coming across a collection of musicians playing on the street, with crowds ebbing and flowing around them. On Saturday and Sunday, I got to see a number of world-class musicians compete for the All-Ireland title in their respective instruments.
Fleadh Cheoil na hEireann had 10,000 performers and was attended by 250,000. You can get an idea of the world of traditional Irish music, song, and dance that is the Fleadh, on the official website
