Irish Language Course Begins in Kansas City
A 10-week course in Gaeilge, which is Irish for Irish, the language that is, or Gaelic as you may know it, begins at Kansas City’s Irish Cultural Center in Union Station on September 12, 2007 at 6:30pm.
It is being taught by Renata Henley who has a BA in Irish Studies and an MPhil in Celtic Studies from UCD in Dublin. And that would be the Dublin in Ireland.
Irish KC has been telling you for some time so you should be ready, with your money in your hand to run off down to the IMCC. The course costs just $100 for IMCC members, or $120 if you’re not a member.
I am going to be extra busy for the next couple of months so a 10-week course in Irish will be a much quicker way for you to find out how to say ‘Grandmother’ in Irish than asking me.
It will also help you no end with your American Slang, and you won’t need to consult my Irish Language Glossary anymore.
People in Kansas City have been asking me for years where they can learn Irish, and now they have an opportunity. You won’t be fluent after 10 weeks but you will understand a huge amount of the very foundation of your culture, and arguably the most important part of your heritage.
And it’s perfect for finding out what to put on your tattoos.
