Irish Festival of Colorado Rain
The 12th Colorado Irish Festival was on over the weekend and the report in the Denver Post is all about the rain.
Downpours are referred to but then Tony McAleavey, Irish native and orginal organizer of the first Denver-area Irish festival, called Sunday a ’soft day’, so that really shouldn’t have been too bad for the crowds. Reported attendance was 5,000 for the three day festival - down for the first time after what has been increasing crowds every year.
I do like the comment attributed to Ken Fuhr of the Michael Collins Pipes and Drums Band, I’m not even Irish, I’m Scottish. But what’s the difference - we all fought the Brits said Ken, seemingly oblivious to where Scotland actually is.
