KC Gaelic Football Blog
The Kansas City Gaelic Football networking goes on. After MySpace, after the FaceBook group, we now have the home of Gaelic Football in KC.
The first post is, as you might expect, introductory, as it tries to de-complicate a game that seems even more foreign than soccer to some people. Dan is right - it is really quite a simple game. The ball is round, you catch it and you kick it. And for good measure you can do other things like strike it with your hand, bounce it, and when you run out of friends, kick it to your own hands.
The most important thing is probably that the training sessions have been established. The 1st one was last Sunday, and regular Gaelic Football sessions in Kansas City are planned for Sundays at 1pm at the Southwest High playing fields by 65th & Wornall.
Check it out, it’s nice to play with people - and however new you might be to the sport you can only get better. Mind you I saw Monaghan play against Cork at the weekend and they haven’t got any better.
UPDATE: 2nd Session report & GAA friends being made.
Best of luck to Dan, the KCGAC P.R.O., with the blog, and welcome to the sidebar.
I’ll add the football sessions to the Kansas City Irish Events calendar as I get myself organized.
