Bob Reeder’s Blog
I’ve been bemoaning the lack of blogs on the Kansas City Irish scene since years before I brought Irish KC into existence almost 2 and a half years ago.
Not of the self-promotional and self-congratulatory kind that all too often people, with something to market, fall into.
But instead, as the medium is intended - conversational.
Conversations will contain information that readers are looking for, and then engage with readers in feedback that should it come should be considered as gold.
Last month Kansas City-based performer of Irish songs, Bob Reeder launched a blog in conjunction with his newly designed website.
And it’s refreshing to see that it’s not of the I’m great, I’m great, I’m really great, variety, even though with his very own fanclub Bob wouldn’t exactly be short of cheerleaders.
“A Place Where You Stand”, the blog of Bob Reeder, is in fact quite political. Of the rant, rant, rant, variety. And why not?
I hope you saved your list of who voted for the Patriot Act. They are traitors to this country and the constitution. When they entered office they swore to uphold the Constituion [sic] of the United States of America.
Karen McCarthy (Dem US Rep from MO) in the House was the only one who voted against it.
I have the list of those who voted for it if you need it.
On a downside though Bob’s blog is suffering from love and attention. After the initial burst of posts in July, the same day in July in fact, we’ve had no further entries since. So go leave a comment, engage, (cheerlead anonymously if that’s your pleasure), and encourage Bob to post more. A new swanky corporate website is all well and good, but personal words from the man of limericks, where else are you going to get those?
Actually you’ll get them at Bob’s live performances, which I post on the Kansas City Irish events calendar - but you know what I mean.
