2 Years Ago Today
2 years ago today I left Kansas City and moved back to Ireland, arriving on September 11 such is that business with timezones and travel itself.
That’s 2. Or if you can’t count, several.
Speaking of counting, when I moved to Kansas City over 10 years ago it was to a city in which I had just 1 friend. Unremarkable for emigration. Compare it to moving south of Brush Creek.
By the time I left KC, almost 8 and half years later, it was 37 friends I left behind. Yes I counted, despite being brought up that it’s rude to count. By my calculation that’s a gain of 3 dozen. Or, if you can’t count, a negative number.
In other news, if you’ve seen comments about me elsewhere on the web in the last few days (the usual personal attacks that happens every year in early September) you will know, if you know me at all, that it wasn’t me who added to the nonsense. That is not how I talk; that is not how I think; that is not even how I spell.
