Titanic: The Musical
Despite, and possibly because of, the massive loss of life when Titanic sank in 1912 , the story of the enormous ship built in Ireland has constantly been reinvented and retold in popular culture.
Titanic: The Musical is the multi-storied song-filled telling of the great ship’s demise, with dozens of characters, that is currently running at Theatre in the Park.
Included among the many stories told are those of 3 Irish maids.
Russ Simmons in the KC Community News says the ensemble cast includes talented vocalists delivering strong performances. Words like “excellent” and “memorable” are used:
Director Art Suskin’s ambitious production takes advantage of the spacious Theatre in the Park stage to deliver a somber, earnest take distinguished by its many fine vocalists.
