The Best Event in KC. Bar None
You may remember that last year the KC Beer Blog called the Weston Irish Fest “the best Irish festival in town” (there’s a story go with that)?
Well on Friday, in advance of this year’s event, Owen Morris of the Pitch went further and declared it the best event in the KC area.
And Owen, the writer of Fat City knows a thing or two about food and drink.
Weston’s Irish Fest is the best event in Kansas City.
Bar none. It’s the only one that combines authenticity, alcohol, good music and a sense of adventure into one package.
Without even thinking about it there are other events I’m sure I personally would rank higher, and they wouldn’t be Irish, but although it’s over a year since I went to a festival of any kind in the Kansas City area, Weston has long been my favourite venue for such an event. Both indoors and outdoors. Because of that unique pub, and because of the lovely amphitheater.
Feedback on the 2008 festival will be posted soon, because, as a brave and anonymous soul, who had the time to leave a comment but not to do any research, once said of me, “that guy sure can Google”.
This event was posted on the Kansas City Irish events calendar.

Wow. Thank you for the compliments. It was disappointing that they were out of my favorite beer and food. Still, between the music and several 150 ml of McCormicks whisky I snuck in (hey, I’m thrifty) and Elizabeth Shue’s presence I stand behind my quote its the best event in the city.
