St Patrick’s Day 2009 at the KC Irish Center
On Tuesday, March 17, 2009 the Irish Museum & Cultural Center (IMCC) at Union Station is having a St. Patrick’s Day Family Fair.
For before and after the big city parade there will be family-friendly games, crafts, music, contests, storytelling and refreshments all day. The idea is that while everyone is having fun, they’re also learning something about their Irish heritage.
Open 10am - 4pm, Free admission, $1 tickets for most activities, more for workshops. All ages are welcome. Warm refreshments available.
All Day: Shamrock planting, Celtic art, derby decorating, Irish karaoke, scavenger hunt, and more.
Afternoon: Irish bodhrán (Celtic drum) and penny whistle workshop and singing by members of the band Kelly, dance, balloon figures workshops
2:30: Reddest Head contest, all ages are welcome.
2:45: Join our “Wee Little St. Pat’s Parade” through Union Station led by Jody Watson, all are invited to join in.
