Ryder Cup Links
I can’t help it, with the world focusing on a lump of land not a million miles from where I’m from, I’m just finding a lot of stuff funny. Which is more than how Tiger found a piece of what was obviously satire, if not very good satire, to the rest of us.
Not wanting the world to read or see that stuff, Tiger told the world about the obscure Dublin publication, and its website struggled under the weight of that world all day yesterday. So I’m giving you different Ryder Cup links:
• An Irish golf history lesson from the Boston Globe
• The BBC caused quite a kerfuffle all day yesterday with their blog when aspects of the event were labelled “Inefficient, badly planned and poorly run”. Irish radio and the BBC blogger had a very busy day thereafter.
• Tiger is forced to sing as Team America shows its determination not to be accused of a perceived lack of team spirit this time
• The Charlotte Observer tells us - in among the schmaltz and cliches - that golf apparently is at the center of Irish Life.
• The London Independent tells us that golf is the new sex
• The LA Times laments a lost opportunity by opting for a new course as Irish as Wal-Mart
• Canada.com explains that it’s money that prevents a better golf course being chosen for the venue
• CNN gives you an insiders questions and answers general guide
