Review: ‘Racing The Tide’ by The Elders
Speaking of The Elders, a slight AP review of their still new CD, Racing The Tide, was carried by the Wichita Eagle a couple of days ago.
It says a lot of nice things without saying very much, which is how I write sometimes.
My favourite bit is where Wicklow frontman Ian Byrne is described as having “lusty vocals”.
Oh, and the final line - which is very silly:
It’s all thoroughly Celtic, and astounding given the band’s home base - like learning some guy from Denver wrote “Ulysses.”
Actually given that it’s an Associated Press review, it was carried by newspapers all over the country yesterday - which will do no harm to those national CD sales.
