Part German, Part Mexican, Part Irish
When somebody is a mix of Irish, Mexican and German heritage, there’s something refreshing about hearing them acknowledge it without banging on about it.
So often we hear some people talk about the heritage of their parents, grandparents, or earlier forebears, in terms of how important it is to them without ever telling us what they themselves are.
Despite or because of his mixed Irish, German, and Mexican heritage, Mike Fannin, the Kansas City Star’s newest Editor/Vice President, in his introductory piece on Saturday, says that he is, “make no mistake, all American”.
And he tells us what that means.
