Nelly Don Exhibit at Irish Center
The Extraordinary Life of Nelly Don is the name of the first special exhibit at the Irish Museum & Cultural Center.
Thanks to Terence O’Malley’s record running movie, the documentary on his great aunt, Nelly Don, and his accompanying book, we have been talking about Nelly Don for some time now.
The special exhibit at the Irish Center runs July through September, $5 admission, with 12 and under free. But before then you have a chance to attend the very special opening of the exhibit.
I ‘m not sure how it works when you have two opening receptions, both 6 - 9pm, on June 29 and 30, 2007, but I’ve left posting on it so late that you only have the option of TONIGHT’S event anyway. It takes place at the Irish Museum & Cultural Center and costs $40 for members or $50 for non-members.
For your admission fee you will get to hear from A Stitch in Time film-maker and author, and Nell’s grandnephew Terence O’Malley, to meet Tinker and James A. Reed II, to view the movie if you choose, to review the exhibit of course, and not to mention visit the newly opened Center whilst enjoying refreshments.
For special Nelly Don history, fashion or movie programs, July 2007 through September 2007, call the Center to set up: 816-474-3848
