Missouri River Irish Fest 2008 Photos
For those of you who didn’t make it to last weeeknd’s Missouri River Irish Fest, over in eastern Missouri, you can get a flaour of what you missed on the MySpace page of the Midwest Irish Focus.
Pete Maher has posted 140 383 photos of the Irish festival.
The Missouri River Irish Fest 2008 was a rebranding of the Irish festival you may remember as the Fáilte St Charles Festival. With St Louis on its doorsteps, along with the historic picturesque town of St Charles, it’s well positioned for success.
Oh, and there’s the Missouri River too. At the last minute the festival had to be moved due to flooding, but from what I hear that went well. And all for FREE.
Anyway Pete’s photos capture a fair chunk of atmosphere, and some of the Irish wolfhounds. [UPDATE: Pete has put even more up today; there’s a whopping 383 photos and counting]
There was also some band called The Elders there. Ellen has some great shots of the lads from the Saturday night and the Sunday afternoon shows.
While I slacked in giving the festival publicity (I’d been intending to for 2 months but they were strange months for me), you can at least check out the official website and get ready for next year.
