Lawrence, KS Shamrock Shuffle 5K Run/Walk 2008
The Shamrock Shuffle 5K Run/Walk takes place on Saturday, March 8th, 2008. It is held on the Kansas River levee behind Johnny’s Tavern in North Lawrence.
The race begins at 8am with registration from 7am.
The entry fees are $20 for early registration or $25 on the day of the race. The deadline for pre-registration is “in early March”, which I like because it’s rather vague. The entry fee includes a T-shirt, something described as a traditional Irish breakfast and an awards ceremony, but note T-shirts are only guaranteed for those who register early.

McDonald Chiropractic Clinic and Anthony Chiropractic Clinic are the sponsors of this event, with the proceeds going to benefit the Lawrence St. Patrick’s Day Parade Charities: County Fair Swim Club and Social Service League.

Judging by the posters from last year with the word “Shamrock” written across a sea of 4-leafed clover, 2008 is the 19th Annual Shamrock Shuffle.
And if I seem a tad smart-alecky it’s because the official website inflicts midi Irish tunes on you. This is 2008; the last time it was permissable to force any form of music on visitors to your website was in 1995. And it was a lunchtime. A short lunchtime.
