KC Trad Band Kelly on MySpace
Early days yet, but the excellent Kansas City trad band Kelly is on MySpace and just waiting to make friends with you.
Kelly are currently recording at Lane Turner’s new studio in Overland Park, several tracks being down and at last report Black is the Colour almost being down.
You can next see Kelly play their brand of Irish traditional music on Saturday 8th September, 2007 at the Lenexa Spinach Festival held in Sar-Ko-Par Trails Park, in Lenexa, Kansas.
The annual Spinach Festival is held to celebrate Lenexa’s early days as the “Spinach Capital of the World” - back in the 1930s when Belgian farmers grew those little green trees and then sent them by rail to people who would eat them.
Kelly’s first performance is at noon on the main stage, and then there’s another one at 4pm also on the main stage.
Now I know these nuggets of trad gold because I visit the Kelly website, and you’re now spoiled for choice in how you learn of their upcoming gigs and how that recording is coming along.

Kelly’s MySpace page has been added to my list of Kansas City MySpace sites, which now numbers over 100, but there’s already quite a few more sites I need to add.
