Kansas City Bridges: Confluence by William Lobdell
Tying in with a post I haven’t written yet, one of the things I like most about Kansas City is its bridges. As the installation of 150 or so art pieces at the new H & R Block building downtown continues apace, curator/consultant Paul Dorrell today shows the newly installed Confluence by William Lobdell.
Like most Irish cities, Kansas City chose to turn its back on the river that created it, so it seems only fair that most of KC’s citizens went on to turn their back on the downtown.
I’d like to see Confluence closer - but how will I do it without going downtown to that area of crime, emptiness and bus stops? You can get a greater sense of the scale and the detail of Confluence by visiting William’s website
