Irish Pub Quiz in Lawrence, KS raises $2,400
The St Patrick’s Day parade organisers in Lawrence, Kansas raised $2,400 for this year’s chosen charities, from their Pub Quiz.
There were over 100 people who took part in the trivia event on Sunday night at Zig & Mac’s, a traditionally named Irish establishment.
One of a series of fundraisers leading up to the parade on March 17, the trivia competition has been going for a few years now:
Event organizer Scott McDaniel said the sixth annual Irish Pub Quiz raised at least $2,400 for the beneficiaries of the parade. This year, proceeds are being donated to the Social Service League of Douglas County and the County Fair Swim Club.
Alas the article includes no questions that are specifically Irish, so here’s some other ones that are (well, kind of):
• Prison in Northern Ireland that was home of the Dirty Protest?
• Irish novelist ended up with former girlfriend of Oscar Wilde?
• Car made in Northern Ireland ceased production in early 1983?
• Van Morrison track on the soundtrack to The Outsiders?
• The Durand Line & Breaking a Terrorist Ceasefire
