Irish Blog Awards 2011 Nominations
It’s that time of year again. The longlists for those blogs and blog posts nominated for the 2011 Irish Blog Awards have been announced and are currently being judged.
I’ve always said that the best thing about the awards is how it facilitates the discovery of many great blogs, and I believe that by virtue of their length the longlists do that best - more so than the shortlists, finalists, or winners even.
So head over to the Irish Blog Awards and trawl through the multiple Irish and Irish-related sites. These are very interesting times in Ireland and the blogs listed afford a varied, and often great, way to view how the country sees itself.
The awards are being held in Belfast this year, in the Europa Hotel, on March 19th 2011. If you’re in Ireland and going to the event, or indeed outside Ireland and flying in for it, I shall see you there.
My own personal blog is nominated again, in a different category to the one I won last year, and since I can see dozens of more deserving blogs I’m more than happy enough with that.
I haven’t spotted any Kansas City Irish blogs among the nominations, but maybe you have better eyesight than me.
