Where Can I Buy Barry’s Tea Gold Blend, and Biscuits, in KC Area
Barry’s Tea. More than Bewley’s Tea or Lyons Tea, Barry’s is the tea I am asked about in Kansas City the most.
Sometimes by email here at Towers gan Fhéile, but even more frequently in person.
Where can you buy Barry’s Gold Blend Tea in the KC metro area? Here:
Brownes Irish Market
3300 Pennsylvania Av, KC
(816) 561-0030
Sheehans Irish Imports
1412 Westport Road, KC
(816) 561-4480
The Celtic Ranch
404 Main St, Weston
(816) 640-2881
If those locations aren’t handy for ya, you can always purchase a pack of 6 boxes of Barry’s Tea Gold Blend (80 Teabags each) online.
When I’m not drinking pure Assam I’m a Classic Blend man myself, but Gold is the Blend I am asked about the most - and I wouldn’t say no to a pot right now.
Last time I looked Brits in Lawrence didn’t carry Barry’s, much the same as many of the Indian import stores carry only PG Tips and Tetley, but you may know better.
And Doherty & Sullivans Irish Goods in Lee’s Summit (816) 524-7151, also carry tea of the Irish and British persuasion. Specifically they carry Barry’s tea, and Bewley’s, and Twinings, and PG Tips, and sometimes Typhoo too! See the comment from proprietor Chuck Denton below.
By all means please enlighten me in the comments with corrections and/or additions to the list.
And the biscuits? All over the place. In the above shops, but also in the Indian import shops that are used to catering to British ex-pats - depending on what you’re looking for but expect to find the likes of Hob Nobs and Digestives, and their chocolate derivatives, no problem.
Also the discount stores that carry Mexican stuff (Big Lots, Dollar General, etc) usually carry what you may know as Marietta and is invariably called Marie or Maria or something about Mary. Butter 2 of them and make a sambo. Go on.
Come on out to Lee’s Summit and introduct yourself. I always have a pot of tea on, no matter the weather. I carry Bewley’s, Barry’s and Twinings. We’ve been in business for 4 years now, and this is our second location. We moved Downtown Lee’s Summit last October, from another location in Lee’s Summit. Come on out and get acquainted! I’d love to show you a new Irish Shop growing!!! (We were at the Irish Fest this year, right next to Kerry and John (Browne’s) and we had an a blast with them. What fun!

Thanks so much! I bet that you didn’t know that being included in your blog would be that important….but it is. I appreciate the mention. Is there any more preferable way to share news with you? I have some things going on in Lee’s Summit that might be of interest sometimes.
Again, thanks!
And come see us when you are in the neighborhood!
