Celtic Crossings Available as a Podcast
In case anybody missed it, and it’s much too important to languish in the comments, the man who used to RickRoll you in real life before the internet was even invented, Mr Colm Delahunt, left word that he has created a podcast site for the radio program Celtic Crossings.
If you don’t know what a podcast is, well, you should because “Podcast” was the Word of the Year for 2005, just like “Blog” was Word of the Year for 2004. Those would be the New Oxford American Dictionary and Merriam-Webster’s choices; my own choices for those 2 years were “Gobdaw” and “Batterburger”.
Actually if you don’t know what a podcast is, it doesn’t matter - because this is a site that lets you download a copy of the program as an MP3 to paly wherever and however you play your MP3 files, and it also lets you just click and play the programs right there on the web page.
For example, here is MP3 of the March 9 show where you can listen to Mark Clavey talk about Tullamore’s 1st major concert in the US, and the music of The Elders being showcased.
And if you do know what a podcast is, well you’ll spot immediately how to subscribe.
Colm has several shows up there since February, each one coming in at just under an hour and half in length - with the exception of the special almost 2-hour one the day before St Patrick’s Day.
I’ve listened to a few because with the time difference between Ireland and Kansas City I always forget to tune in live on the radio, and it’s a great way to keep up with KC’s Irish news and music. In the last few weeks you’ve had - and still have - the chance to listen to John Morris, Rob Gavin, Tullamore and the Elders.
Colm Delahunt is known to the Irish community in the Kansas City area as DJ Irishman, the barman at Harling’s Upstairs for 10 years, and the brother of some Irish traditional singer/songwriter character named Eddie.
When you’re over there listening/downloading/subscribing be sure to leave a comment and thank Colm.
