Gordon Parks, Pipesmoker of the Week #46
Yesterday Blogonomicon named Gordon Parks (1912-2006) as its pipesmoker of the week. Yes, the director of Shaft and famed photographer.
And why does Irish KC care?
Well Irish KC cares about all kinds of things, but staying on topic Parks came from Fort Scott, Kansas - just down the road here from Kansas City.
And, I haven’t read it but, in 1981 Parks, long an accomplished writer, wrote a novel called Shannon about Irish immigrants in early 20th-century New York.
