Celtic Spring in Missouri
Because I don’t have a television, the bits I do see (on the computer) tend to be the more dramatic moments rather than more thoughtful excerpts.
So my only memories of Celtic Spring are of Piers Morgan making a young child cry on America’s Got Talent.
I liked that clip because there was nobody to like in the clip whatsoever, not even a sober David Hasselhoff. A child crying for real on television, because of an adult. Reality crying.
But never mind what I think, America liked Celtic Spring in their fiddling dancing ways, and on Wednesday, June 27, 2007 at 7pm the good and bad people of Missouri, or at least those within range of Columbia, get to see Celtic Spirit perform with the Missouri Symphony Orchestra.
It’s billed as an Incredible Evening with Celtic Spirit, but I don’t believe that.
You can see this performance by the Wood family with the MSO at the Missouri Theatre Center for the Arts, for the very resonable price of $10.
That America’s Got Talent video is alas no longer available, so I am prevented in perpetuating cheap entertainment sensationalism, but here is a video of the Von Trapps of Celtic music performing at a Scottish Festival somewhere, though presumably not Scotland:
You may well want to visit the official website of Celtic Spring.
