1st Anniversary of Triple P Irish Pub in Greenwood, MO
Saturday May 26th, 2007 is the date of the first anniversary party for the Greenwood BBQ & Triple P Irish Pub
The Triple P in Greenwood, Missouri, which isn’t as far as it might sound - unless you’re riding a bicycle - has been a great new addition to the Irish community in the KC metro area, acting as a venue for the likes of Bob Reeder, The Lucky Charms, The Kelihans, and Flannigan’s Right Hook as well being a participant in the Lee’s Summit Emerald Isle Parade.
Other kinds of bands, other than Irish-related, perform there also, but the pub has made a special effort to seek out Irish music, and that’s more than can be said for some Irish venues in KC.
In a year which saw the Irish community sadly lose WJ McBride’s Irish Pub in Overland Park, Kansas, and then the WJ McBride’s Irish Pub in KCK - and their facilities as music venue, and then more recently the burning down of Kennedy’s Bar on 75th Street, the Triple P Irish Pub has been a very welcome new venue for the Irish music scene in and around KC.
When there’s more details I’ll let you know, but for now I can tell you that Cadillac Flambe will be one of the bands performing at the anniversary party. Stick it on your calendar, and help the Greenwood BBQ grow even more successful in its second year of operation.
