The Sheehan Summer Times
June 2007 saw the first issue of a nicely produced glossy newsletter from Sheehan’s Irish Imports.
The cover highlights a whole load of new Irish and Celtic products from the Spring Trade Show, and the Irish food in the fridge and the freezer, while inside there are articles on Belleek China, Enterprise Ireland’s Maeve O’Malley’s visit, wedding resources, CIE bus tours and John Morris’ new CD.
On the back there is a Summer Events Schedule including notice of 20% off all hand-knit and hand-loomed Irish sweaters for the entire month of July, and a 1-day sale on Saturday, August 11, 2007 where you can have 10% off your entire purchase.
And then from August 31st - September 2nd, Friday thru Sunday is something labeled “Irish Festival at Crown Center”. Now I know exactly what that means, and you know exactly what that means, because it’s very clear what that means, but here’s hoping it doesn’t incur the anger of the unapologetic David Shaughnessy, festival entertainment co-ordinator, and those he purports to represent.
And I’ll stop mentioning it when it’s fully dealt with, one way or the other.
