The Fuchsia Band in America Summer 2009
Friends of Kansas City, Irish traditional band from Cork in Ireland, The Fuchsia Band are once again playing around the US of A in what will be their 5th summer tour of America. And Kansas City is not left out.
On Thursday, June 18 2009, in what is being billed as their only Kansas City appearance, The Fuchsia Band are playing at 7pm in the Irish pub Raglan Road in the P&L district of downtown KC, Missouri.
This gig was originally scheduled for Delahunt’s Cafe & but is now arranged for Raglan Road with the added bonus of having Eddie Delahunt join the Fuchsia Band.

There is no cover for this gig.
Cafe & is located at 4448 Bell Street and you can make a nuisance of yourself by phoning them at 816-753-3322, but heck it’s a cafe, so why not call in, grab a cup and a pastry, sit yourself down, and then ask your question?
Eddie, the Delahunt fella in question with the cafe, has a website.
The Fuchsia Band are also playing again at the Langston Hughes Theatre on the campus of Lincoln University (820 Chestnut St) in Jefferson City, Missouri -on Wednesday, June 17, 2009, the evening before KC.

On this 2009 USA tour The Fuchsia Band will also be playing Fairfield, Iowa; Urbana, Illinois; Jackson, Mississippi; Monroe, Louisiana; Tuscaloosa, Alabama; New Orleans, Louisiana; Memphis, Tennessee; Little Rock, Arkansas; Fort Collins Irish Festival in Colorado, and this weekend, the Oshkosh Irish Festival.

I missed Fuchsia front man, and former part-time Kansas City resident, Máirtin de Cógáin, wearing his drama hat in a play here in Dublin a few months back thanks to a nasty spell of winter, but I’m sure he can tell you about it himself.
