The Chaffinch
The thing about this male chaffinch unlike the others by the lake, was the tunes he sang were all hit singles.
By female artists.
Food was accepted from the hands of both genders and it mattered little what they sang.
I often sang male songs like a woman but the chaffinch stayed on his true female hits only road.
Until the day, arching across the road for some sunflower seeds I’d brought, he was struck by a tinted windscreen with a humming Bob Dylan behind it. Interrupting his tune Bob then cried.
Just like a woman.

There’s a butch bullfinch sings outside our window, “I will survive” .Confusing.
I see kingfishers when I go on my bike. I’m lucky.
Yep you certainly are lucky Sniffle. Kingfishers are gorgeous. And there are few sights on the planet that give more pleasure than a Bullfinch outside my window.
