Skybox St Patrick’s Day 2007 Hooligan Holiday
On Saturday, March 17, 2007 - St Patrick’s Day - the Skybox in Kansas City’s Rivermarket, is having what it’s calling a Hooligan Holiday.
Hooligans in Kansas City are people who dress and shape like hooligans in Europe, but they don’t act like them. They’re nice people, and unlike their European namesakes they’re not going to ever slash your face with a stanley knife (box-cutter).
Boombox Hooligans Justin Long and Pat Nice, Jack & Jill, Robsoul will be doing their thing, as will the original Kansas City Hooligan himself, Mr DJ Rico, upstairs.
Rico is not unfamiliar with Irish punk, so apart from the Pogues, Dropkick Murphys, Flogging Molly and all, Rico will also have his hands on Stiff Little Fingers, the Undertones, and maybe even the Radiators from Space.
Give or take a predilection for a northern English football team from Manchester, I like Rico. And he’s getting me some Smiths tapes. He’s been getting them for six years now.
