Revolution: Sweat. Dance. Rock & Roll.
Or since it’s Kansas couldn’t we go with Evolution: Sweat. Dance. Rock & Roll?
What’s described as a fiery fusion of tap, jazz, tango, martial arts and Irish step-dancing, Revolution: Sweat. Dance. Rock & Roll is coming to Kansas.
At 7:30pm on Saturday, October 4, 2008, at the Lied Center in Lawrence, KS, you can see champion Irish step-dancing martial artist Joel Hanna in, well, whatever Revolution is.
It’s a multimedia performance, which I think is another way of saying not everything is live, and as well as Joe there are a bunch of dancers including no less than “a finalist from the second season of the network smash So You Think You Can Dance“.
And if that’s not good enough for ya, there’s “a bold four-piece rock band situated on the stage”. Yes Bold. that rules out U2 then. And The Corrs.
Joel himself was in Riverdance, and in that thing that Jean Butler and Colin Dunne did called Dancing on Dangerous Ground, and he was the lead soloist in Fire of Dance.
If you want to see what on earth this is and how traditional Irish culture has evolved (Ha!), then you just might want to go see this. Or you could just make yourself a cup of tea.

Hi,
I saw this show in New York last year. It was fantastic! Seriously.. one of the best things I’ve ever seen!
I’m confused by your comments though. What does the evolution of Irish culture have to do with this show? Other than one of the creator’s dance background, there wasn’t anything Irish implied. I checked the website too. What do you mean?
Thanks Lucas,
As I say in my 2nd paragraph the show is described as “a fiery fusion of tap, jazz, tango, martial arts and Irish step-dancing”. That description is from InfoZine.
The homepage of the official website states Revolution fuses Tap Dancing and Irish Dancing into an unforgettable night of Sweat, Dance, and Rock and Roll.
