Reading Around, A Round Up
Because I refuse to work, I spend all the waking and sleeping hours of the day reading and drinking and writing poetry.
And that causes some interesting pieces to be thrown up, if you know what I mean.
Here then are some highlights I’ve bumped into around the blogosphere recently that I think the regular readers of Irish KC, the ones I scorn the most, would really enjoy:
1) and 2) Those who enjoy the comments left here by Primal Sneeze should drop everything, even their children, and head straight over to his posts on Incredulous Internments and Banking Buddies.
3) Sam, the Problem Child Bride, went home to the Isle of Lewis and said goodbye to her grandmother. Everybody should have a grandmother like this.
4) Medbh of Dante and the Lobster has a piece on the 70th anniversary of the Irish Constitution - that’s Bunreacht na hEireann in Irish, and the codification of womens’ roles that it enshrined.
5) Gerry of UnLaoised points out that six counties just wasn’t enough for some British. It’s a funny place names post.
6) Dolly Parton, via Sweary in the Arse End of Ireland, is giving a helping hand to tourism in the southwest of Ireland.
7) Tony of Tony’s Kansas City has the scoop on Beckett’s Waiting for Godot being the opening event at Kansas City’s new and spectacular downtown Sprint Center. Just remember - for the uninitiated - you should never believe anything Tony says, but you should heed everything he says.
New Irish blogs on the Irish KC block are by Grandad at Head Rambles and by the Dub in the Dam over at The Difficulties of an Irishman. I’ve put them there because they are deeply satisfying.
Thankee very many, kind sir. Banking Buddies is a far better title so I’ve adopted it. Thankee again.
Many thanks for the linkage, Eolai.
More than welcome guys, and so nice and pragmatic to see somebody embrace a description I’ve used.
I’m embarrassed! I missed this post. And you go and give me a link. Shucks! Thanks!
When you say I am “deeply satisfying”, does that mean I’m a pint of Guinness?
Thanks for the link, Eolai. I haven’t been backroom on my blog for a while and just now noticed you’d linked to me.
Cheers!
