Obama Irish Song: Single & Video
Former Nancy Boy, or possibly Hardy Drew himself, Tipperary’s Ger Corrigan was telling me about the re-recording of the now famous song There’s No One as Irish as Barack Obama and its release as a single together with brand new accompanying video.
The song by Ireland’s Corrigan Brothers, which is who Hardy Drew and the Nancy Boys always were, is based around Obama’s Irish roots in County Offaly - in a place called Moneygall as you may remember of where fellow Irish blogger and rector PaddyAnglican did announce documentation of Obama’s Irish roots some time back.
As well as racking up a ton of YouTube views the song has featured on TV programmes in the US and has been covered by the likes of Shay Black of the Black Family.
The video (below) is a flash animation and even includes Paddy Anglican.
The single is released by Universal Music and go HERE to download the song from your preferred music seller.

I’ve just watched the boys perform the song on my favourite British political television programme, The Andrew Marr Show, where they had Neil Kinnock enthusiastically singing along, and I’m sure I caught a glimpse of even William Hague singing along too.
The embedding of the video has been disabled because Universal Music would appear not to understand that allowing websites to post your content promotes your content.
I must confess to missing the dirtiness of the original version the Corrigan Brothers did with its Ramones scruffiness that has been lost in this clean up, but the times, apparently, they are a-changing.
