New Festival: Strotherfest, Celebrating Americana in Lee’s Summit, MO
On Saturday and Sunday, July 21 and July 22, 2007, a new summer festival for the KC metro area Strotherfest, takes place in Lee’s Summit, Missouri.
The 2-day festival is a FREE community event, and includes music of interest to the local Irish population.
Saturday night is headlined by Kansas City’s favourite blend of Celtic rock and Americana. Fronted by Irish man Ian Byrne, it’s The Elders at 8:30pm
And for good measure, Sunday night is headlined by a tribute to those famous sons of Ireland, Lennon and McCarthy. The tribute band is called Liverpool at 8:00pm. Oh, okay, Liverpool are also a tribute to George Harrison and whoever the drummer was.
UPDATE: The Lucky Charms will be performing for children
This festival is the beginning of a new tradition for the summer in the KC Metro area, and is a celebration of all things Americana.
Times:
Saturday, July 21 - Noon to 12:00am
Sunday, July 22 - Noon to 10:00pm
Location: Strotherfest takes place on the Holy Spirit Catholic Church grounds, at 1800 SW 150 Highway, in Lee’s Summit, Missouri
